Ever since I’d seen a certain Stampin Up set demoed in a YouTube video, I wanted the Gigglin’ Greetings. To my delight, I found a very nice Stampin Up Demo close to me and Ramona from Scrap Stueble was kind enough to organize the stamps for me in record time.
With another friend’s birthday coming up, I decided to go with a funny approach (we are all just crossing the 30 year mark or are just past it, so I guess humor is badly needed).

This card turned out quite differently than my original sketch; but at some point I really wanted to use my Sizzix Circle die set and once I had thought of that, I couldn’t go back to my original idea (please tell me that happens to you, too?).
I pondered back and forth and then remembered some advice from, I think, Kristina Werner: paper that comes in a paper pack usually goes together very well. So I went through my – at the moment quite modest – stash and found some nice patterns (I picked the yellow with the white hearts to have something to go with the cheese theme). Some cutting and assembling later, I only added some bling to one side of the card and some Glossy Accents to the other side and that was it.

On the inside, I could have just went with stamping, but I had this beautiful pattern I wanted to use. I only realized later on that the colors don’t do too well with the outside. Ok, I got a little carried away to try the Simon Says Stamps from the September kit and my Hero Arts Shadow Inks, but hey, it looks awesome, doesn’t it?
So, there’s my birthday card for a special friend across the ocean, literally on the other side of the world. Hope she likes it 🙂
