It’s Fridaaaaaaay again, and the weekend is just around the corner. Reason enough for a cutesy card featuring a new stamp set by The Alley Way Stamps. If your order this month with The Alley Way Stamps is over $40, you will receive this set for free!
I wanted to do something fun with these cute critters and when I saw the Peek-a-boo die by Pretty Pink Posh, I immediately knew what to do. Well, not really 🙂 I knew where I wanted to go, design wise, but I made a lot of errors on this card, had to change out the background a few times, stamped a few backgrounds in vain and then had to start over. Card making can be challenging sometimes!
But the end result was worth the journey, I think. I absolutely love the curiosity that this card inspires because of the die – you know that there is something behind that die cut, but you have no idea what! And once you fold back the flaps, you see that adorable bear looking at you. Seriously, could the reveal be any more rewarding?
I also had a lot of fun creating the sentiment by Simon Says Stamp. I love my glitter, and mounting that piece onto black card stock really helps it stand out and provide contrast on an otherwise very CAS style card. The glitter doesn’t rub off once you’ve set it, but I added some glossy accents nonetheless to give the sentiment a glossy finish and to make it sparkle even more. You should see it in real life!!
Even though, I though that the project could use a bit more sparkle and so I added a few sequins by Pretty Pink Posh and drew a few black dots. Amazing what that does for contrast!
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed the card and the video! I’m also sending this card off to the following challenges: Time Out “Make Your Mark” because … Copic Coloring; Addicted to Stamps and More because “Anything Goes” and Friday Mashup because “Glitter” and maybe even a little bit of 3D 😉
