Hey crafters, today I want to revisit an old technique – watercolor resist. It’s super easy to do and lots of fun!
For my card, I grabbed a floral stamp and created a pattern by repeatedly stamping the image with Versamark, then heat embossing the image with white embossing powder.
I had masked off the top part of the card to make sure I wouldn’t get anything on there since that’s where my sentiment would go. I used a brush to add water on top of my embossed flowers, then sponged a little bit of watercolor in.
I even sprayed the whole thing with Perfect Pearls – for the shine, mainly, but also to make the colors run more. Again, this is completely up to you. Once this was dry, I stamped my sentiment and then added a strip of simple black card stock to separate the top area a bit from the lower area.
If my project inspires you and you go shopping for some stamps and dies at CAS-ual Fridays, don’t forget to use my exclusive code Julia2016 on checkout. That will save you a whopping 15% off your purchase! Hope you liked revisiting the old heat-embossing-resist technique and got inspired! Cheers!
