As you might have read already, I’m taking the Online Card Class “Clean and Simple 3” and I’m just blown away by how much new stuff I’m learning. This card is also the result of the class: the goal was to grab a busy background stamp and highlight just portions of it.
Since I don’t have a background stamp that would fit the bill, I went a bit off course and used the super-duper amazing Wplus9 Paisley stamp set to create my own background.
I outlined the paisleys in the center with a silver ink pen and then colored in parts of the stamped image with my prisma color pencils. I used some blending solution to blend out the colors and make them smoother.
The sentiment is 3D mounted (yes, I still maintain that this is a clean and simple card, so there 😉 ) and from Hero Arts. I stamped it in Versafine Smokey Grey, then fuzzy cut it. Love my Honeybee scissors, they have totally been worth the price.
Finally, as you may have seen, I’ve sprayed the entire card quite generously with Mr Huey’s Shimmer mist. I thought, if I’m already having so much silver on it, some more glitter can’t hurt. Right?
I’m entering this card in the following competitions: Simon Says Wednesday Challenge “Glitter it” for obvious sparkly reasons; Addicted To Stamps and More #87 “Make Your Mark” since I used my Prismacolor pencils to color in the paisleys; and finally into the colorQ #233 challenge because that’s where I got the idea for the color combination.
