I love my Copics, especially since I somewhat got the hang of them. Not saying I can color, but at least I understand where I fail 😉
I saw this super cute monster on Etsy at Gerda Steiner’s shop and just had to have him. Truth be told, I purchased the entire monster family, so keep an eye on this space for more monster cards in the future.
I trimmed down the front panel with the Mama Elephant Femme Frames and created another panel with the same die set to layer beneath. The On Point Borders (also by Mama Elephant) were used to create the pattern on the yellow panel. The sentiment and the stars are all from the same Mama Elephant stamp set (Make a Wish), one of my favorites.
Since this is a birthday card, I decided it needed some sparkle, too:
The sentiment was stamped with Versafine pigment ink and sprinkled with Judikins Iridescent Sparkle embossing powder. Two of the balloons were coated with Glossy Accents and I sprinkled ever so little gold embossing powder onto the glue before it set. I love the effect!
I colored the monster in turquoise, it seems to be my favorite color at the moment. I wish I already had some of those eyes that roll around, they would be perfect on him 😉 I also used a blue Wink Of Stella Marker to outline his feet and sides – you can’t see it here, but it gives a great sparkle in person. I also used some Opaque Copic ink to add the dots with a thin brush to add some interest to the little guy.
