Hi there, crafters, and happy December! I looked through all the cards I created and realized that I’ll be hard pressed to share all holiday cards before Christmas! So, for better or worse I’ll be bombarding you almost daily with new inspiration this month 🙂
This card was made when I had an urge for layers. Sometimes I just need to get away from one layer cards and pile the paper up and up and up.
I also wanted to make the beautiful snowflake by Wplus9 shine and experiment with a few unusual christmas colors. Thanks to Distress Inks I was able to create this beautiful blend in the background, which I enhanced with a few dots from my gold gel pen.
The snowflake, front panel, and scalloped panel were all cut from Bazzill Marshmallow card stock – it’s very heavy and sturdy, which makes me personally very happy. I love cards that feel solid, and since I can import it via Amazon US, I am using it much more freely now 🙂
The sentiment is from a German stamp set by Dani Peuss – it has so many wonderful German sayings for Christmas, I am really very happy to have discovered it. I opted for something subtle on this card instead of a heavy font because I didn’t want to take away from the colorful center.
I hope you enjoyed this easy project that features a few colors you wouldn’t normally see on Christmas cards. Thanks for stopping by today, have a great day!
I’m sending this happy christmas card off to the following challenges: Addicted To Stamps and More “Holiday”; Time Out “Snowflakes are Winter’s Butterflies”; and The Paper Players “Tic Tac Toe” and I’m choosing Snowflake + Sparkle or Shine + Punch or Die Cut; and a last second entry to Simon Says Stamp “Anything Goes”.
