Cheerful greetings, crafters! My rainbow-mania is still in full swing and I hope you are enjoying the colorful cards I am creating, because I think I’ll be doing many more in that style.
Today, I am using a stamp set by Pretty Pink Posh (yes, they do stamps too!) and some watercoloring with my markers.
The stamp I used is an outline stamp, so I used a very light Distress Ink to stamp this outline, knowing I needed to cover that outline up with other colors later. The technique is very similar to the one I used on an elephant here and on a robot here. Basically, I am going in the order of the color wheel, applying color with markers and then using a brush or blender pen to blend them out.
The first coat of color was very pale, just to get a base layer down which would not change in the middle of the clouds. Then, once that layer was dry, I came back with more intense colors (I switched from my pastel Zig’s to my Stabilo markers) to intensify the edges. I scribbled some of the markers directly to the heart stamp and stamped it, then came in with my brush and activated the color to smooth it out.
Lastly, I applied some Perfect Pearls on top of the clouds to make them shiny. The striped background is perfect to add some intense contrast to the otherwise cheery card, and the stitched round bottom of the front panel was created using a Pretty Pink Posh border die.
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you had fun!
