With my mind tuned into my hobby, I suddenly realized that throwing away the packaging my new IKEA chair came in would be a bad idea. Instead, I cut it into non-creased pieces to use as very heavy card stock for my projects.
I’ve done it. I’ve committed myself (for me, spending lots of money on something is a commitment), so now I can’t chicken out again.
After some serious online searching (what in the world did people do before Google??), I found a German shop that carried the BigShot starter kit at a very reasonable price. It’s called Sandra’s Bastelladen and the starter set you see below was just €99.
My name is Julia and I want to be a scrapbooker. Yeah, I know, it sounds weird but I always thought that being a scrapbooker meant to have oodles of crafting experience, a keen eye for beautiful layouts and incredible skills for cutting, drawing, etc.
Turns out that while it doesn’t hurt to be in touch with your creative side, sometimes you just need to get started. For me, one YouTube channel changed it all: Scrapbooking Made Simple. Watching Stacey create stunning layouts, cards, and little artsy pieces in minutes finally made me realize that, yes, even I can do it!
So I decided to get started and get myself the tools that I need and start with a (granted, a little too big) project: my dad’s upcoming 80th birthday. I’ll be making a whole set of themed cards matching his present.
On this blog, I’ll chronicle my first steps and where they lead me. Hope you’ll join me on my journey!
