Hey everyone! Today I’m back with a very simply card. The idea here is for all those of you who love to stamp out a bunch of images and color them whenever you have time. At some point, you’ll end up with a ton of cute critters and people, but what to do with them? Keep the focus on them, and the rest of your card as simple as you can.
(if you’re receiving my newsletter, please hop on over to the website to check out the video)
The critter I colored today is from Purple Onion Designs: the images are just big enough to give you enough room to maneuver, and small enough so you can be done in a reasonable amount of time.
The design of the card is a CASE. That means that I picked a card from one of my favorite crafters, Francine Vuillème, and copied it. I needed some inspiration to get back into the crafting spirit when I had some time off between christmas and New Year’s, and her blog just made me drool. I saw this card here, and knew I could use the design with this image I had colored up:
I love Francine’s card more than mine, but then again, I think she’s a much better crafter than me. At least she excels at a clean and simple style with really impactful coloring. When I grow up, I want to be like Francine 🙂
I personally think that CASEing (Copy And Share Everything) is a great way to get inspired. The important thing is to give credit to the crafter who inspired you. But if you are ever stuck, simply recreate a card design you like (it can even be one of your own previous cards). It takes the stress out of trying to come up with a layout or color combinations, you can just focus on getting your crafty mojo back.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you got inspired!
