Hello crafters! Today I have a card that I am proud of – not that I don’t like my other creations, but there are cards here and there were everything turns out perfectly, even better than I had anticipated. Despite not having used my colored pencils seriously for about a year, this card came together “in a pinch”. I am not only thankful to Alyce from Kit and Clowder, who taught me all my coloring skills, but also to Francine who inspired me to buy this set by My Favorite Things after having seen the gorgeous cards she made with it.

As I keep saying, pencil coloring isn’t something to do in a few minutes. This entire coloration took me about an hour. To me, it’s not about getting done, but about enjoying the process and seeing dimension rise from the piece of paper that I am creating on. Speaking of which: the card stock I was using really wasn’t great for layering with pencils, but it added some interesting texture.
Since I wanted the focus of this card to remain on my coloration, I didn’t do anything else. Just cut a few pieces of paper with my Tonic dies and layered them – very subtle, very non-distracting. And then I sent off the card and I was glad to hear that it delighted the recipient who helped me with the kindest words and patience to get through the first days after I had lost Sissy. So thankful to have met wonderful people through this hobby who help me in the real world, too <3
