Howdy, crafty friends! Today I am giving a clean and simple design a go. You know that I often struggle with white space – I want it, but once I have it I panic and try to fill it with something, anything really, to make the card look less “empty”. Go figure.
For today’s card I am using the My Favorite Things Distressed Patterns stamp set and a variety of inks. I went in the order of the color wheel and stamped the distressed lines from top to bottom along the side of the card. I made sure to have the stamp end at different lengths for some additional interest.
For my panel, I adhered a strip of double-sided adhesive tape and some black card stock which I trimmed later with my paper cutter. I find it easier to add a larger piece of paper and then trim it than trying to get a straight, slim piece of paper. The black color also accentuates the other colors more.
Of course, I could have just stamped my sentiment and left it at that, but here comes my white-space-issue into play and I had to add a few additional colorful specks and some sequins by Pretty Pink Posh to round off the card.
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed the project!
