Hey crafters! I’m popping back in today with the reminder that the 25% off holiday sale at Purple Onion Designs is ending tomorrow, so get your orders in! The discount applies to all stamps, not just christmas and winter images 😉 Today, I want to showcase one of the newer Stacey Yakula stamps, though, and how I created a serene winter scene.
This landscape is actually just a single stamp! That means no tricky alignment or measuring – just stamp once and then get on to the coloring 🙂
As I mentioned in my previous posts, I have two dedicated acrylic blocks for the Purple Onion Designs rubber stamps. I covered these acrylic blocks with Tack n Peel on one side so I can just pop on the rubber stamps and get crafty.
The coloring was also dead simple: I wet the background around the scene with clear water first and then dropped in my watercolor (I used Gansai watercolors, but you can use any watercolor that you can pick up with a brush – if you only have markers, scribble them on some plastic and pick them up from there).
For a final touch I used a stencil from Simon Says Stamp and some embossing paste and while the paste was wet I dumped a ton of glitter on it and made my snowflakes “sparkle”.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you got inspired!
