How are you guys? Today I wanted to share a very easy tutorial on how to apply watercolors very precisely. I always struggle with that – either I am using too much water, or too little, and then everything starts to run. For a control freak like me, that’s the moment where I usually start to panic, so was wondering how I could reign in the watercolor and still get that wonderful look. Challenge accepted?
Blender pens are a miraculous tool – you can use them for all sorts of things, especially if you can refill them with different fluids. The regular blending fluid in the pen works just fine with watercolor, though, so I gave that a try and was very impressed with the results I got.
The one thing you have to be mindful of: pressure. Since you are working with a felt tip, and watercolor paper is, by nature, meant to soften and soak up water, you have to be careful to not rub too hard. Otherwise you can risk pilling the paper or even tearing it. But with a bit of practice that’s not too hard to accomplish.
