As you guys know, I like to challenge myself and one of the most challenging techniques for me is no-line coloring. I find it manageable with pencils, but with Copics it’s a real challenge for me. To make it a bit easier, I picked a My Favorite Things stamp set of robots so I could at least stick to one color family to help me along 🙂
This card was made for a guy-friend of mine who is a huge sci-fi fan and works in IT. And even though robots in many TV shows are the bad guys (just think Battlestar Galactica), I thought there was nothing wrong with a happy and friendly birthday robot smiling broadly at the recipient.
I also created a bright background with a stencil and die-cut a set of balloons which I left white to contrast with the colorful background. And of course I had to add a few sequins and seed beads from Pretty Pink Posh to add some bling. Yes, a real man can handle a bit of bling on his birthday card! 😉
On the inside I added a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps (it seems it’s no longer in stock, sorry!). Thanks to my MISTI I could stamp it several times in place. Since it has a few solid parts, I did’t get a great impression the first time, but the third time was the charm.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you got inspired!
