Yeah, I know, this title doesn’t make a lot of sense by itself, but I hope that when you take a look at the card, it will all become clear 🙂 I was itching to use a beautiful Wildflower stamp set by Condord & 9th and just couldn’t resist using a space theme for the coloration.
As you can see, I kept it super clean and simple. I used my MISTI to stamp the flower and stem with MFT Hybrid ink, which works well with all sorts of techniques. For the coloration, I used my Gansai Tambi watercolors, but you can of course use whatever watercolors you have at hand.
The trick is to start light and then, when the base coat is still wet, add darker color to the edges. You need to be careful to only add a little bit of color so you won’t overwhelm the petal. Remember, it’s always easier to add more than to take away.
For the finishing touches, I used a die set by Spellbinders (they don’t make it anymore, unfortunately) to emboss a frame around the Wildflower stamp by Concord & 9th and then added some stars with my white Sharpie pen. I should have abstained from adding the dots around the flower, but at that time, I thought it was a good idea. Shows you what I know.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the idea of a space flower! See you again soon!
