Hi crafty friends! Today is the last day when you can get the entire new Happy Trails collection by Purple Onion Designs at a 30% discount. And of course I’m not just here to tell you that but to also show you a card I made using the new stamps. And I dabbled once more with no-line coloring, which I still find incredibly difficult, but always worth the effort.
I started out by stamping the fox and his bike in Antique Linen distress ink, which is super light and, being a watercolor, will dissolved when I go over it with other colors. It’s just light enough to offer some guidelines , which is all that I needed. I used a small watercolor set by Winsor & Newton, just to challenge myself to do something with a limited number of colors (and remember, you can mix watercolors to create new colors!).
I worked in layers to build up the color intensity, but I tried to keep it all very light and airy and not to add as much contrast as I usually do. I finished the card up by die-cutting the watercolor panel, adhering it to my cardbase and then adding some Nuvo Drop accents all around.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you got inspired!
