Hi everyone! Just popping back in to share some coloring I’ve done over the weekend. Work is keeping me busy, but – as Alyce from Kit and Clowder pointed out in her February class – it’s important to take some time off, just for yourself, to recharge. That’s what I did, and here’s what I have to show for it. Oh, and the image I am using is Camellias by Powerpoppy – their digi stamps are GORGEOUS. There’s about a dozen of their images on my wishlist 🙂
You have all heard me recommend Kit and Clowder over the past four years, and they continue to be my favorite coloring classes. In addition to taking the full courses, I had also signed up for the monthly Create and Learn classes, which explore a different subject/technique each month. They are available for markers or for pencils, and they are a monthly subscription. Since I got so busy with work, I didn’t really have time anymore and so I cancelled my subscription (super easy), but Alyce seems to have a supernatural sense about me: she reached out to me and asked me how my coloring was going 😀 Long story short, she sent me the February class and I had a blast!
This class was also a great refresher about the things I had learned previously in the Elements of Nature class (see my review here), but you don’t have to take the full course to be successful in the Create and Learn courses. For me, it was just plain fun to leave my computer for a few hours yesterday and only worry about making nice flicks with my Copic markers, and letting my brain shut off. So. very. relaxing!
I also shared some work-in-progress images over on Instagram and Facebook, and you can see that you get a full step-by-step guide for each course, and a video tutorial. The one for the markers this month runs about 1hr 40 minutes, so you really see every detail and can follow along at your own pace. Honestly, before I started the coloring I didn’t think I’d be able to get the result that I got, but Alyce just breaks everything down in such easy steps it’s simply about following along.
So, I’ve had a great weekend: combined both work and coloring, which is awesome, and once more my recommendation for all the coloring-crazies out there (yes, that’s you! But me too 🙂 ) is to hop on over to Kit and Clowder. If you are not sure if you want to buy a course, or do the monthly subscription (which you can cancel at any time), why not try the free markers course (you just need to create an account) to see if you like Alyce’s style? Cheers, and I’m off to do some work stuff again. Catch you again soon!
PS: You can join us over in our Facebook group, too, if you want to see what kind of coloring we (Alyce’s students) are doing. Plus: it’s a fun group 🙂
