Howdy, crafters! I have a new video for you today featuring stamps by Purple Onion Designs. I know that most of you usually think of the adorable critters by Stacey Yakula when I mention Purple Onion Designs, but they also feature other artists and styles of images and today I am showing off one of the cute house stamps which I color with Copics on kraft.
I’ve been showing off the technique of Copics on kraft quite often in the past, so if you want to learn more about the basics, and how to approach the entire topic, please check out all my posts here on the blog or my YouTube Playlist where I’ve summarized all videos with this technique. In general, you use your markers as you always would, but they change color once they dry on kraft so it’s best to have a swatch ready where you scribbled some color on your favorite kraft card stock so you know what to expect.
I kept the coloring of this house very simple – since the kraft paper already provides color and texture, I didn’t even add any color to the house itself but only colored in some of the details. For the highlights, I used a white Polychromos pencil; if you don’t have one, try any other colored pencil, but I recommend having a white Prismacolor or Polychromos pencil. They come in handy so often!
To set my house off against the background I simply drew two lines with my T-square ruler and colored the part between the lines in with one of my Copics. Voila, fancy background! Again, my white Polychromos helped me to accentuate the borders of that area.
The sentiment, also from Purple Onion Designs, was stamped with Versamark and embossed with ZING gold embossing powder for some beautiful sparkle.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you got inspired!
