Bewitched greetings, crafty friends! Today I am back with the next part in my mini Halloween Series and I’m going to color up an entire Halloween Scene using a digi stamp by StarStampz from Etsy. And as a reminder: you can still use the coupon for coloring classes from Kit and Clowder and enter my giveaweay. More at the end of this blog post.
The great thing about this image by StarStampz is that it is a scene already. That means you can just print it as is and don’t have to fiddle with putting several images together. I made sure to print the image a little higher than the center of my card so I could frame it in an oval window and still have space for my sentiment.
The paper I used is Simon Says Stamp heavy card stock – it doesn’t bleed through, so it’s perfect for one layer cards also. This also allowed me to color directly onto the card base. I started with my pumpkins because orange-yellow is one of my favorite color combos and I do enjoy coloring pumpkins very much 🙂
You saw that I also drew in the moon myself. Nothing to be afraid of, to add elements to a scene. It’s just a circle shape (use anything you have on hand to help with the shape) and then I colored the outside blue for a night sky. You could even leave the circle white (I used a super light yellow) and it would still look awesome.
If you have trouble blending the sky properly, don’t despair. As you can see, I added a lot of stars with my Sharpie and Stardust Gelly Roll and that will cover up any oopsies just fine. And even though I was itching to add more embellishments, I am happy I resisted the urge and kept the card clean. This way, the focus remains on the colored image.
Coupon for Kit and Clowder & Grande Prize
As I keep telling you guys, all my coloring skills are from taking classes at Kit and Clowder. I have an in-depth review of the classes I took here, if you want to check that out first.
Use the code julia10 to get 10% off when you purchase a class at Kit and Clower. The coupon is valid until and throughout October 31. You can apply this coupon to all full coloring classes (“Hair and Skin”, “Clothes”, “Perfecting Pencils”, and many many more), but not towards the Create And Learn monthly subscription. If you are a Create and Learn subscriber already and want to purchase previous monthly classes, you can use the coupon for those, though.
As a Grande Prize Alyce will be giving away a full coloring class for free to one person who leaves comments on my little coloring series for Halloween (part 1, part 2). If you have already purchased a class with the coupon, you can get a full refund for your purchase, so no reason to hold off! The winner will be announced here November 1.
