Howdy, crafters! With October just having started we are taking great leaps towards the winter season (finally!) and with this month’s cards for Purple Onion Designs I decided to make my designs reflect that change in season. Today, I’m starting with a clean and simple project featuring some cute critters.
Because I get the question a lot (even though I have answered it in detail on my FAQ page): I love my Scan n Cut. It’s particularly helpful for images like these that do not come with matching dies. They were cut out without any issues, and so I could easily plop them into the die-cut openings.
In order to have enough contrast – and not have a white panel on a white background – I added some blue distress ink behind the die-cut windows. That makes the windows more pronounced and the critters pop against that background.
Last, but not least, I added some sequins by Pretty Pink Posh for additional sparkle and shine to the card and then I was already finished!
