Did I get your attention with that headline? I should, because I myself can’t draw for the life of me, but with the beautiful stamps in the Stamp of Approval box (seems it’s still available) you can easily create the look of a hand-drawn and watercolored wreath. If you don’t have the collection, you might very well be able to reproduce this look easily with stamps you have on hand.
I know most of us don’t stamp with Distress Inks since they don’t give a great impression, but for this technique, we don’t need a perfect impression. All we need is the image stamped in an ink that will react with water. So, grab your distress pads and some watercolor paper (important!, don’t do this on regular card stock) and stamp away.
Once you touch your wet brush to the ink and move it around a bit, it will look as if you had hand-drawn all those little elements. What an awesome way to fake a skill I wish I’d possess but … well, it’s like singing. I can do it, but you don’t want anyone around to witness it.
I personally like this card best from all of the ones I made from the collection. The traditional, old-school christmas look just appeals to me and I look like I’m crazy talented, even though I can’t draw one bit 😀
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you got inspired!
