Hello crafters! Today I want to show you how you can create a fun card with one single image only, nothing fancy added to it. I know that I like to use lots of stamps, but if you just have a few, your options might be limited. But don’t let that make you think you can’t produce an excellent card! I actually wanted to show you a video, but the gremlins ate the file and so you’ll have to make due with some beautiful close up shots 🙂
As you can see, I actually managed to create a mini-scene using only Fawn from Purple Onion Designs. All I added in addition to the one stamped image was a line with my pen which suggest a hill/ground on which the bunny is standing. With some very light Inktense shading of green below the line and blue above you suddenly have a setting that is just suggested, but everyone “sees”.
I intentionally only did some very easy coloring with my Inktense pencils. There’s not a lot of detail here, just some light washes of color. If you are not that comfortable with watercolor, this is perfect for you because it doesn’t take any particular skills to get this right. Just stay within the lines and you’re golden!
For a finishing touch, I spritzed the panel, but especially the colored image, with my Perfect Pearls mist. Since Inktense pencils do not reactivate when dry, this was a safe way to add sparkle easily. If you use regular watercolors, they will reactivate and run! Make sure to have your project on a flat surface and immediately dry with a heat gun to avoid colors running.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you got inspired!
