Hello crafty friends! I have the honor today to be a guest in the Altenew Newsletter with a fun interview! So honored to be have been asked to participate, and I hope you had fun reading a bit about me. Of course, I also want to delight you with a brand new creation for this occasion! I want to focus on stamps that are not the main stars of a set, but can totally rock your card. I’m using some smaller images from the famous Altenew “Beautiful Day” and will color them with both Copics and colored pencils for a stunning effect.
I intentionally avoided the large floral image because we’ve seen it so often already, I thought changing it up a bit might show you how you can stretch your supplies and focus on often overlooked images. All this card requires is a wee bit of masking at first when stamping the images with My Favorite Things Hybrid ink. I am using paper with some linen structure here for additional interest.
I love to mix different mediums. My first coloration was done with Copic markers, and you could even leave it at that. I didn’t do anything fancy, just some easy blending without going too dark. That’s important if you want to add details with pencils later on. That was my second coloration: adding fine details in the leaves, berries, and flower petals. I feel that I have much more control with a pencil than with the Copic, which is why I prefer it for detail work.
The sentiment was stamped using the Calli Letters from Mama Elephant which allows to form your own words. You might want to arrange the stamps on your card first to see how much space you might need – especially if you have only limited space to the left.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you got inspired! This card goes off to Simon Says Stamp “Clean and Simple”, Addicted To Stamps and More “Anything Goes” and I’m sneaking it into Less is More “One Layer” (I know it’s not completely one layer, but … but … I just HAD to! 😉 )
