Hello crafters! Today I’m entering my third and final card into the My Favorite Things Superstar challenge. For this project, I decided to go all golden and sparkly and used the stained-glass technique on vellum. Have a look at my video to see how I created this card!
Heat embossing on vellum is a lot of fun: especially because the embossing powder melts super quick so you get the full embossing effect, but just sped up 🙂 When you use your Copic markers with embossed lines, you have to be very careful though. The alcohol ink in the Copic markers can easily dissolve the embossed line if you’re not careful. For that reason, when working on vellum, you should color on the other side of the material.
Since the vellum will mute the color a bit, of course depending on the kind of vellum you use, you should go for your darker colors. They might look very dark the moment you lay them down, but when you flip the vellum over, you will see that the color is muted and doesn’t appear quite as dark as you might think.
And that’s it for my third and final project! I hope you got inspired and had fun. Thanks so much for stopping by today! I’m also sending this card off to Time Out #66 “Fall” and Addicted To Stamps and More “Anything Goes”.
