Colorful greetings, crafters! Today I want to use a technique which most of you will know already, but it’s so effective and fun it’s worth revisiting again and again. Especially when you can pair the awesome florals from Pretty Posies with wonderful colors, and you guys know just how much I love everything rainbow. Let’s take a look at the video!
Stamping with Versamark can be a bit tricky because you don’t really see the images (Versamark is clear) but you can counter that by adding the embossing powder in stages instead of at the very end. For projects like this one, use a powder tool to make sure that the embossing powder doesn’t stick where it doesn’t belong (and if you don’t have any at hand, use flour).
My original design idea was of a very crips border, but as you saw, when peeling up the masking tape some color had seeped underneath it. It looked so pretty, though, that I just couldn’t be mad about this crafty mistake and just rolled with it. For stamping the gorgeous sentiment, I used Versafine pigment ink – it’s very rich and dark, and would be the only ink I trusted to be intense enough to compete against that background.
Of course I had to add a few sequins by Pretty Pink Posh for extra sparkle! If my project inspires you and you go shopping for some stamps and dies at CAS-ual Fridays, don’t forget to use my exclusive code Julia2016 on checkout. That will save you a whopping 15% off your purchase!
I’m sending this card off to Addicted To Stamps and More “Make Your Mark” (must be my favorite challenge topic ever 🙂 ).
