Hi crafty friends! I usually try not to do projects which require a specific tool because I feel that we should be able to do pretty much everything without having to buy a certain thing, but for today’s card, a stamp positioning tool like the MISTI really does come in handy, but there are alternatives.
If you have the Letterpress platform, you can use that just as well, but I’d recommend taping down the card well to make sure it doesn’t move during the stamping. Another alternative would be the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to be used with rectangular acrylic blocks. You can also try this with the Fiskars stamp press, which will require you to eyeball the alignment, but since the press sits on foam feet, you have time to line it up. If you only have regular acrylic blocks, you can try this as well, but I personally don’t have the skills to line up stamps that perfectly with just the blocks.
I decided that I wanted to stretch the purple/blue color scheme across the entire card, yet keep it CAS at the same time. To that end, I used Copic and Shinhan markers to color in the pattern that I stamped on the panel which went behind the card front. For a finishing touch, I added some Liquid Pearls into the dots in the pattern. The Liquid Pearls dry slightly raised and with a beautiful shimmer.

Hi Julia ~ This is a sweetly happy card, to be sure. Your color choices are fun and I love the layout too. Thanks for sharing. ~HUGS~
Love it!
Wonderful card again,Julia, and the colour choices are great too. I wanted to ask sg. What do you do with your beautiful creations? Send them out? Display them at home? If the latter, how do you do that? Ism looking for ideas for card displaying, i just put ny actual faves on a shelf, but maybe there’s a better idea. Thanks. Hugs from Budapest, Zsofi
I mail them out – I don’t want to keep them, I make the cards to bring happiness to others, so keeping them would defy the purpose 😀
That makes a lot of sense 😀 I do give away a lot of my cards too, but I keep some too for my family (hubby and kids – who are my biggest fans and supporters). You are so right that a card makes others smile and it is a great way to share kindness in this ugly world.
Great video and neat card!
This is so well done. Love the gradient colors and that background under the front panel. Great choice of colors, as well.
This is a lovely card, Julia. Thank you for your inspiration! Love the design and colors you used, beautiful!
Great card. I love the background stamp and how you cropped the top layer of the card to give it more flair 🙂
Hi Julia,
Hope you are home and OK… give news please. Love.
