Hi guys, let’s get cute again! I am still drawing from my supply of colored critters from the 30 Day Coloring Challenge earlier this year. This time, we are meeting Purple Onion Designs “Birch” wearing a rainbow hat. I wanted to keep the fur of the bunny white, so I needed a colorful accent and a rainbow hat seemed perfect:
The bunny was colored with Polychromos pencils, and I took special are to add those “folds” to the hat to make it look like it was folding in certain areas. All I did was use my black pencil, very carefully, to add darker areas. I had no idea if it would work, but was pleased about how it turned out.
Of course, this happy little fella had to “burst” onto the scene, so I made him appear out of this peek-hole which I die cut with a die from Pretty Pink Posh. You can either leave it closed and the recipient has to open it up, but I decided to open it up and even adhered the flaps with foam tape to the panel so it would stay open.
I kept the background pattern and the sentiment in the same color so it would not distract from the bunny too much. I also slightly misaligned the sentiment because I was too lazy to get my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig out, so I had to grab a circle stamp and add more dots to the right than to the left to balance it out.
And of course, the finishing touch were the Pretty Pink Posh sequins, mirroring the colors on the bunny’s hat. Thank you for stopping by today!
