Howdy, crafty friends! Today I am channeling my inner Laura Bassen, who is just the goddess in the ink-blending pantheon. For stamps, I am using some new images by Purple Onion Designs which were released a short time ago; they are part of the Garden Blooms collection.
Laura has said again and again (and you can see it do in all of her videos) that it’s important to dab the ink blending tool off on a piece of scrap paper before taking it to the actual project. And she’s totally right. By taking off that initial strong color, you are able to achieve much softer blending effects.
For this card, it was very important to me to have those soft colors because I wanted the background to support my images, not overwhelm them. The Arch and Bell, the frog, are new and the little duck is an older stamp, but they just look adorable together.
Of course I had to add some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh as well for bling, tucking them partly under my fussy cut images, to emphasize the dimension. Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you got inspired!
I’m sending this card off to Addicted To Stamps and More “Clean and Simple”.
I’ve listed the products used for this project below. If possible, I link to Seven Hills Crafts for all European Crafters. Alternative shopping outlets linked to are Amazon US and Simon Says Stamp. Click here to learn more about which companies I am affiliated with.
