Hello crafty friends! I’m happy to be back with a project for CAS-ual Fridays; I had thought I would have to take a break from my DT duties due to my move and work, but since some stuff at work shifted, I found the time to keep creating for CAS-ual Fridays. Today’s fun video shows you how to create inlay die-cuts which are almost invisible – until you take a closer look. Check it out!
As you can see in the video, I am using my MISTI to stamp and with solid images like the “BIG” it really pays off. Additionally, I had not used the stamp before, so it didn’t take the ink very well, but I remembered Jennifer McGuire mentioning how using Versamark underneath the ink helps with this issue and it did! Great trick!
In my card, the die-cut word is almost invisible when looking at the card from the front. If you would like it to stand out more, there are a few things you can do:
- use more layers
- slightly offset the top-most layer so that a little bit of white peeks out from underneath
- use a black (or different than white) card stock for building up the dimension
Thank you for stopping by today! If my project inspires you and you go shopping for some stamps and dies at CAS-ual Fridays, don’t forget to use my exclusive code Julia2016 on checkout. That will save you a whopping 15% off your purchase!
This card goes off to Less Is More “Purple”.
