Hi crafty friends! Today I am going to show you a shaker card in detail – since we got heart shaped confetti in the colors gold, silver, and iridescent at Pretty Pink Posh I though that was just fitting. And of course I had to use the Scallop Circle Dies which feature the same beautiful stitched edge and scallop border as the rectangles (and squares) which were released previously.
The great thing about the new confetti is that these tiny hearts are completely flat – which means that you can keep the shaker element relatively flat as well and don’t need to add tons of foam or foam tape to make room for da shakin’. I’m just using one layer of Scotch Foam tape here and I could fit in tons of those little hearts.
My cute birdie, which I colored with Copic Markers, is from the new Birdie Notes mini stamp set. I fussy cut mine with scissors, but there’s a matching die set if you don’t want to fiddle. This cute little set would be perfect for decorating an envelope as well.
I decorated my panel a little bit by using the Stitched Borders 1 dies to cut the scalloped edge and then added a few white dots into each scallop as decoration. I also traced the outline of the Scallop Circle Die with my gel pen for addition contrast. Just in case you haven’t noticed yet – you can use the new dies perfectly to create circular windows only, you don’t even need to fit the die cut pieces into the aperture.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you got inspired! I’m sending this card off to Simon Says Stamp “Anything Goes”.
