Hello crafty friends! Purple Onion Designs have new stamps, specifically new gorgeous, lovable, drool-worthy Stacey Yakula stamps, and of course I had to get inky to show you what you can do with them. These are red-rubber stamps (not mounted) but they can be easily used with an acrylic block and some Tack ’N Peel which I show in the video below.
These garden bushes let my heart leap the moment I saw them – there are just so many option to color them in, use paper piecing, and probably a dozen other techniques I can’t even think of right now. I knew immediately that I wanted to rainbow-color them. You could of course also do different shades of the same color, or just pastels, just prime colors … there’s really no limit to your creativity.
I used my Copics and Twin Touch Brush markers and kept the coloring pretty simply – my goal was to simply have a nice gradient from dark to light for interest, and not add a ton of “real life like” details. If you’d rather go that route, you could use pencils to add fine details over your Copic coloring, or you could use a cloth dipped into Copic cleaner fluid and press it quickly to your coloration to add texture.
I glued my panel to a square card base and then die-cut the frame from fun foam using the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Scallop Square die. Since the white of the fun foam was much warmer than the white of my colored panel, I simply grabbed a Copic marker and colored the fun foam. Problem solved! 🙂
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you got inspired!
