Hi crafters! It’s the middle of the month, and that means you have still a few days left to enter the Seven Hills Crafts challenge where a gift card for the store is up for grabs. This month, it’s all about embossing: dry, wet, heat … you name it!
I went with Altenew’s “Botanical Garden” and heat embossed the florals with gold embossing powder. I just love the golden glitz you get, you could even leave the card as is (I’ve done so before on this card set). But since I had seen Jennifer McGuire use a great technique that left embossed/stamped images white and just added colors around them, I wanted to give that a try.
I used my Gansai Tambi watercolors and I tried very hard to keep the color wash very soft so I could easily blend from green to yellow to orange. That means a lot of water and just very little water. I really like how it turned out!
The sentiment is of course also from Altenew and it’s solid black background just adds the right amount of impact to this otherwise very soft card.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you get down with embossing and share your cards in our challenge! This card goes off to the following challenges: Less Is More “One Layer” and Simon Says Stamp “Flowers”.
