Howdy, crafters! Today I have a bright and colorful project for CAS-ual Fridays for you. I wanted to give my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush markers some exercise and see how well they would do. I first stamped the floral image with Versamark and heat embossed it with white powder. Next I just added a tiny bit of color with the markers and blended it out with a damp brush. I am not using watercolor paper here but Bazzill Marshmallow Card Shoppe card stock. It does take some water, but you can’t quite blend it out as you can see in the purple petals.
For the background I actually used my Gansai Tambi watercolors. From experience I learned that putting down strokes of color with the markers and then blending out doesn’t really work on this card stock and I’d end up with streaks. Instead, I wet the surface of the card base and then dropped some Gansai Tambi in and pushed it around with a large, flat brush until I had the look I wanted. I waited until the color was almost dry, then sprayed it generously with Perfect Pearls to get a great shimmer on the entire bard base.
The sentiment on the outside and inside was embossed with gold powder; I just love the look of it! And I also added a few droplets by Pretty Pink Posh; they look like water drops, which goes together great with the petals. Of course I also added a few white dots … I know you guys would complain if I didn’t 😉
