It’s time to stretch our supplies again! Yeah, I felt like thinking outside of the box again. Sometimes that happens just by accident, sometimes I need to stare at my crafting supplies for half an hour before I suddenly spark an idea (and sometimes nothing happens, which is the perfect excuse to cheer myself up with chocolate). For this card, the inspiration came suddenly and I am so pleased about how it turned out!
I actually used a fall themed stamp set by CAS-ual Fridays, specifically the big leaf. I figured it’s such a general shape, why not turn the leaf into flower petals? In the stamp set, you get the leaf outline and the solid image. I started by stamping the solid image on my card base using ME Orangeade ink, then I stamped the outline using the same ink and cut it out using the matching die. You can easily cut this one by hand, though.
To make the flower the true center image of my card, I die cut a panel and then from it an opening using the super versatile Bubble Box dies by CAS-ual Fridays. This frames the center image perfectly and then I added a few sequins by Pretty Pink Posh for some sparkle and shine.
If my project inspires you and you go shopping for some stamps and dies at CAS-ual Fridays, don’t forget to use my exclusive code Julia2016 on checkout. That will save you a whopping 15% off your purchase!
Cheers and catch you again soon! I’m sending this card off to the following challenges: Stempelküche “Frühlingsgefühle” (Spring Awakening) and MUSE which has a beautiful floral card this time to inspire us.
