Howdy, crafters! Today I have the honor of participating in the Pretty Pink Posh March Release blog hop and we have some serious talent lined up for this! You should have arrived here from the insanely creative Gayatri Murali – if not, no worries, I have the full hop list at the end of this post. As with all Pretty Pink Posh hops, you can win amazing prizes and this time 2 $25 gift certificates are up for grabs! All you need to do is hop along, get inspired, and leave the wonderful designers some love in the comments.
Paulina has added beautiful new stamp sets, dies, and sequins to her store this month and I had trouble deciding which products to showcase. I actually created cards with all of them and I’ll be sharing them here on my blog over the next weeks.
For today, I combined the new Pretty Pink Posh products with some older ones to show you just how wonderfully they all work together.
I used the little bird trio from Birdie Friends and colored them with my Copic markers. The sentiment is from Birdie Notes, the new mini stamp set, and the envelopes I used to create my own patterned paper are also from this mini set. The cloud is from Rainy Days, as is the umbrella which I left as white as possible to contrast with the background.
Since I often have trouble to create a nicely blended background, I did some experimenting and found that I can just use my Distress Ink and a blending tool to put down color, and then spray it slightly with water! I also mix some Perfect Pearl into the water to make the finished product more shiny. Oh, and of course I had to add some of the new heart confetti, which is now available in silver, gold, and iridescent!
And just for the fun of it – and because this release is so inspiring and offers so many creative possibilities, I want to show you another card I made. It features the brand new window die set and the Birdie Friends stamp set. I kept it clean and simple this time, trying to keep the focus on the cute images:
The Twine and Bow die, an older product, makes an appearance here as well and I am so very pleased how much this simple shape adds to a card. For all those of you who struggle to use twine on projects, this is the perfect solution.
Thanks for hopping along today – I hope you are getting inspired! Your next stop is the fantastic, amazing, always makes-my-jaw-drop-because-it’s-gorgeous Yoonsun Hur. Good luck! Winners will be picked randomly along the blog hop. Comments must be left by 11:59 PM PST on 3/14/2016. Winners will be announced on the PPP blog.
