Hello crafty friends! Today I want to start another mini coloring series since the reception of my previous series was so fantastic. Your feedback encouraged me to split one project into multiple videos to make it easier to focus on the technique without having to haste through the coloring to keep a video short.
Today I want to talk about a technique I had forgotten but which yields great results: Copic (alcohol marker) coloring on kraft card stock. We will be using a gorgeous stamp by Stamping Bella for this tutorial.
As I mentioned in the video, I encourage you to try different kraft papers (or at least whatever you have on hand) to see how your markers will look on it. And the time to create a custom color swatch for your most used paper is well invested since it will save you tons of head-scratching later on.
Furthermore, please remember that you need to wait until the Copic ink has dried before judging a color on kraft. When wet, all Copic inks will look terrible, but once dried especially the lighter colors will surprise you.
In this first part, we colored the monster. In the second video, we will be coloring the girl, and in the third and last video the pillow and surroundings. To make sure you won’t miss any of the videos, please subscribe to my blog (I have a subscription form on the top of my sidebar) or to my YouTube channel.
See you again in a few weeks for part 2!
