Hello crafters! I had a craving for a card with many layers after keeping it pretty one-layer recently. Paulina from Pretty Pink Posh is an amazing crafter and she excels at adding lots of layers to cards but still keep them clean and simple and I am constantly thriving to emulate her style because I like it so VERY much. I am the proud recipient of some her cards, and I constantly refer to them for inspiration and to learn how to improve my own crafting. Today’s card was inspired by Paulina’s style:
As you can see, I tried to keep my overall design very clean and simple looking, despite all the layers. It was clear to me that I needed to stick to a simple color scheme as to not overwhelm myself and the recipient and the cute bunny from Purple Onion Designs just needed some pink. Well, lots of pink! It contrasts nicely with the yellow-green on the bunny and who doesn’t love a pink accent on their card?
For the background on which the bunny sits you can select a piece of colored paper, or just use a piece of colored card stock, but I added a gradient with Distress Inks, just for interest, and then sprayed it with Perfect Pearls for shimmer. It looks gorgeous in real life and it’s such a pop of color against the white panel.
I matted this panel against another one which I stamped with a MFT background stamp and an Altenew ink. The irregular stripes of the stamp add just the right amount of whimsical-ness to the background panel so it goes nicely with the cute bunny. All of these layers are mounted on top of each other with foam tape for nice dimension.
Just before I was putting the card together, I realized that the background needed something, and after a short deliberation I remembered a die from Pretty Pink Posh that allows you to build a string with a bow. This time, I only used the die for the string and now it looks as if I wrapped some silver thread around my card – brilliant die!
I apologize for not showing how I colored the bunny, but I did her during the 30 Day Coloring Challenge by Kathy Racoosin in February and I was just coloring a whole bunch of gorgeous Purple Onion Designs images on my couch, no camera, just for fun.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and got inspired! This card also goes off to Addicted To Stamps and More “Anything Goes”!
