Greeting from outer space, crafty friends! When you read this, my own personal craft space will have dissolved into nothingness (more on my upcoming two moves later this month in a separate blog post) but far be it from letting this distract me from crafting! As the sci-fi fan I am (have ya’ll seen “Interstellar” and “The Martian”?) I just HAD to use the gorgeous “Out of this world” set by My Favorite Things for this month’ Seven Hills Crafts challenge – as always, there’s a gift card up for grabs, so get your entries in!
This month, we are using a sketch to inspire us and you can see the sketch over on the challenge blog. I always have trouble with sketches, but I am happy about how my card turned out this time! I used the Lil Inkers Stitched Mats to die cut my panels and instead of reaching for my Distress Inks to create a background (guess what, they were already packed!) I found some patterned paper which did the job just fine!
My little space ship was colored with Copic markers and I used colors that would contrast nicely against the dark blue background. You can use any color you want here, but I wanted something bright and cheerful (good aliens, not Alien aliens).
Since the sentiment wouldn’t fit, I did a Jennifer McGuire again and cut it apart. Since there’s no sound in space, I have no idea if it complained about it, but hey, it fit! Some gold embossing powder and there was the sparkle!
Hope you got inspired today and I’ll see you over at the Seven Hills Crafts challenge!
