Hello crafters! I’m back with another card for the Calling All Sistahs project by CAS-ual Fridays. I had been participating in it for the first time last month, and since it’s a worthy cause I am back now in January again. If you want to read more about the project, please head on over here.
For the longest time, I had wanted to do a card with a hidden diecut shape. I started out by lining up the sentiment stamps on my card so I would have a rough idea at least were the first words would go. I decided to have a gradient going from dark purple to very light pink with the word “girl” in the middle being the very darkest purple for additional contrast.
Since I knew that I might have to double stamp some of the words if the impression wasn’t perfect, I used my Letterpress as a stamp positioner. But also made it much easier to create the gradient effect on some of the sentiments: I inked them up with two inks and then was able to go back in case the gradient didn’t turn out right. I thought of the empty space with hearts stamped with Delicata gold pigment ink and then sprayed the entire panel with hairspray to set the pigment ink.
I diecut the bow shape directly from this panel and then a number of times from regular white card stock. I glued all of the pieces together to raise the main shape up a little bit and then added that to my card base.
Thanks for stopping over at my blog today! Have a fantastic day!
