It’s the time of giving, and as I did for the past two years, I have prepared a little gift for my team at work. Each year, we get treated to a grandiose christmas dinner, and I add a little treat bag to each plate for my colleagues to enjoy. Last year, I gave them a tea bag, lip balm, and a scented candle, but the tea bags and candle ended up in our office kitchen, so this year it’s sweets only.
I die cut the tags with dies by Pretty Pink Posh and the tiny tags are really perfect. They do not overwhelm the gift bag and most sentiments fit just right on them.
Speaking of sentiments: I used a stamp set by Purple Onion Designs called Merry Thoughts which is just perfect for the occasion. You get a whole bunch of different images and sentiments. You could cut them apart to mix and match, but I decided to leave the sentiments with the images they came with.
I stamped them with MFT Black Licorice ink on watercolor card stock and then used my Stabilo Markers to color them. I just put down a little color and then used a Blender pen to create the shading. It’s super quick, and you could just do one solid color if you are pressed for time. Some glossy accents on top added the perfect shine.
I die cut a second set of tags out of card stock that matches the color I used on the stamped images and heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder. For some dimension, I used a beautiful stencil by Tim Holtz (and it’s just fun to watch my colleagues trying to figure out how on earth I created that dimension).
Wrapped around the little treat bags, the tags are the perfect festive touch for the small gesture of appreciation.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are having a great day and you got inspired. These tags are going off to the Simon Says Stamp “Tag It” challenge.
