Today I am taking a detour from the traditional christmas colors and finally give my shiny Papertrey Ink stamp set something to do. I made this card with a specific crafty friend in mind who loves to use purples, so that’s the color I went with (and it’s a frosty color, which works perfectly with my bear).
I started out by die cutting a window in my panel using a MFT die. I used Bazzill Marshmallow card stock which is nice and heavy and gives the entire card a great solid feel. I used Distress Inks to create a soft purple color blend on my card base, just behind that opening, and while the Distress Ink was still moist, I put some Perfect Pearls on top of it. It makes it so beautifully shiny!
I stamped the bear on SSS heavy card stock and just added some grey shading (nothing fancy, I just traced the outline) before sending it through my Brother Scan ’n Cut machine to have it cut out. I mounted both the bear and the panel with foam tape onto my card base – of course I forgot to stamp my sentiment, but was lucky enough to get it down perfectly in the end.
For some additional elegance and sparkle, I added a few pearls with Multi Medium Matte glue into the scallops of the die cut window. It’s very lovely in person!
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope the project gave you some inspiration if you need to create some last minute cards. Have a great day!
