Howdy, folks! No christmas card today from me – it’s my mom’s birthday on Monday, and I made this fun card for her. I hope she appreciates the humor, or I might be facing an unpleasant surprise when I come home for christmas this year 😉
This summer, you saw me using Stabilo markers as a watercolor medium for the first time, and the company Stabilo sent me a few watercolor pencils to play with as well. For this card, I have combined the pencils and markers to create great blends from intense color to lighter areas.
I was impressed with the pencils – they reacted easily with water and for pencils, they had intense color. You cannot compare them to Inktense pencils, which dry permanent and are by nature much more intense. The watercolor pencils by Stabilo are great for those of you who prefer lighter washes of color.
The sentiment I used is from Create A Smile stamps. The original stamp from Stamping Bella comes with a great sentiment already, but I wanted a German sentiment for my mom, so I choose this one – and even added another line on the inside of the card. Which just might seal my fate in regard to christmas presents 😉
Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!
