Hello fellow crafters! Today’s post is a bit different, at least topic wise. I am featuring a stamp set by CAS-ual Fridays called “Hope Ribbon”. This and other stamp and die sets were created by Michele from CAS-ual Fridays to raise awareness about breast cancer because she herself had been diagnosed with it this year, and managed successfully to fight it! As a part of the “Calling all Sistahs” campaign, Michele wants to make sure that we ladies not only have one breast-cancer awareness month in the year, but she dedicated the 17th of each month to a project that would keep the topic fresh in our minds. You can learn more about the campaign here.
I used my Letterpress to stamp the gorgeous huge ribbon on to my card stock – why the Letterpress again? Because I knew the first impression might be too weak, especially with all the great details in the bow. Thanks to the Letterpress, I could stamp the image three times exactly into the same place, getting a much stronger impression while preserving all the detail.
For some glimmer, I grabbed my Perfect Pearls and dabbed the powder on. You have to dab vertically, not horizontally, to avoid smudging the pigment ink , but the shimmer you get is just awesome. I did the same for the sentiment, and as you can see, it sparkles perfectly.
I also stamped some hearts from a different stamp set, but this time used the translucent Versamark ink and applied perfect pearls to it. As you can see, you simply have the shimmery shape now, which I enhanced with some tiny gems.
I hope you like the technique, even though I hope you’ll never have reason to send a card like this to someone. But if you do, check out the Calling All Sistahs products by CAS-ual Fridays which will allow you to support your friend in need, and at the same time support the cause because CAS-ual Fridays is donating 50% of the profits from these products to cancer research.
