Hello and welcome to the Pretty Pink Posh November product release! Today is day two and if you missed day one, you can catch up on some awesome inspiration here. Today, you should have arrived here from the wonderful Carissa Wiley.
I actually started out with a card that uses the umbrella stamps as they are intended to be used, and I will show you that at the end of my post. But when I put the stamp away, I happened to turn it slightly and suddenly I saw a completely different image.
Who would’ve thought that you can create butterflies from umbrellas? Since these are clear stamps it’s very easy to line them up by looking through your acrylic block. As for the coloring, here you can go wild: I love rainbow colors, but you could use pinks for valentine’s day, seasonal colors for a fall card or even create an ombre effect.
Adding extra details like the body really isn’t hard at all, and as you can see I also added a few dots here and there for additional interest. The dots outside of the butterflies are black to match the stamped outline, the dots inside are white to enhance the color.
As you can see, I also dove into my sequin containers to find sequins that matched the colors of markers I used. In addition I also grabbed a few of the droplets that there part of last month’s release and sprinkled them on. Just a drop of Glossy Accents through the fine tip applicator and they will go through the mail safely.
And here is the other card I created with the same stamp set, this time creating a watercolor background and mounting the umbrella on top of it. There are matching dies for this stamp set, but I actually had my Scan ’n Cut machine do some fussy cutting for me.
