Colorful greetings! With all the techniques out there and us constantly feeling that we need to practice to be better than we are I thought it would be fun to just color, and not have the pressure to figure out light sources, and delivering a piece of art. So the project today is simply for fun and hopefully you’ll get inspired to stamp some of your images out and color them just for the heck of it 🙂
I went overboard with the colors on my little bird, but I wanted it to match my sentiment. You could of course only color the bird with one color, which would enable you to theme it for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, or what ever occasion you have in mind.
After I had colored him, I realized that I didn’t want him to stand in mid air. I stamped the bottom part of the bird on masking paper, fussy cut him out, and then stamped the branch on top. At first I thought it was okay, but then I realized I missed a gradient in the color so I simply colored on top of the stamped branch with my brown Copic markers.
Originally I had not even intended to add my dots to this card, but it felt a little bit empty. But instead of grabbing a black pen or my usual Stardust pen, I grabbed the same markers that I had just used to color in the bird. I used the colors in the same progression as I did on the bird and I think it works just perfectly on this card.
I hope you enjoyed this simple and easy coloring project and I hope it will inspire you to color just for fun, and not only to participate in challenges or to practice. Coloring just for fun is important so you won’t feel the pressure of having to create something that is perfect. Just enjoy the process 🙂
Have a fantastic day and I’ll catch you again soon!
