Today is another happy day because I get to share a project with you I made for Purple Onion Designs. You might have already got a glimpse of it a few weeks ago on the official Purple Onion Designs blog, but now you also get the video! 🙂
You know me, I always try to stretch my supplies and of course I wanted to find a way to use the POD Christmas Set (which is a huge set) for a non-Christmas purpose (don’t worry, I’ll make some holiday themed projects with it as well). I hope it doesn’t look like the bird is pooping stars, it’s meant as a trail!
I was also heavily inspired by both Laura Bassen (who else can ink blend pigment inks like she does?!) and Nichol Magouirk (Queen of Vellum) – vellum is such an awesome material for adding dimension, but not too much, and keeping it clean and simple at the same time. Love it!
After I had glued down my sequins, I used the same Copic colors I had used on the bird to add some dots – you know I love them, I think they add so much more character to the entire project. Here, I also grabbed my black Gelly roll pen and drew in some dots right around the bird and on it.
Here are the colors I used on this card:
- B00, B24, B26
- YG01, YG03, YG17, YG67, Y38, Y15, Y02
So, what do you think? Good combination of stamps and techniques? I certainly hope so. Thanks for stopping by today and for leaving a comment, you make my day!
