Hello and welcome to the last day of sneak peeks for CAS-ual Fridays! Tonight, the new stamps and dies will be available through the online store over at CAS-ual Fridays. Today I am continuing my Christmas Card Series 2015 with another card set, inspired by last year’s “Pinecone” stamp set and this year’s new “Pinecone Fri-Dies” which match the – you guessed it – pinecones in the stamp set!
As you can see, it’s really easy to create different looks with just one set. And you can do so much more: you could create a window with the dies and make a shaker. You could arrange the pinecones like I did with the leaves on this card. You could do partial die cutting on an edge like I did here. There are really no limits.
Overall, I wanted to keep these cards as clean and bright as I could, but when I was finishing up I realized they were a little too clean for my taste. So I grabbed my golden perfect pearls and mixed some into water, and then grabbed some green watercolor (mine is from Kuretake, but you can use whatever you like), and splattered some of the color and shine onto the cards. It adds just the right amount of interest and contrast.
And of course I had to add some sequins by Pretty Pink Posh. I choose color which match the overall color scheme I already used on the cards, and the sequins in the 4mm and 6mm size add the right amount of sparkle – subtle, but there.
I hope you enjoyed the previews of these cards and got inspired. Don’t forget to check out the CAS-ual Fridays blog for more inspiration by the rest of the design team and to prepare your shopping list for the release tonight.
And one of these cards also goes off to Simon Says Stamp “Anything Goes”.
