Hi crafters! It’s Friday, which means party time with the weekend ahead of us! And how to better celebrate than with the Waddle Pals, our new stamp set for October?
I wanted to show you today that you don’t always have to use expensive markers or coloring mediums, and that you also don’t always need to worry about light sources and shading. Sometimes, keeping it simple is totally ok and still looks great. Especially with images which are largely black and white and only require a little splash of color, it’s super easy.
The penguins’ coat are black, so using just one color is totally fine and a simple orange for their feet and noses is sufficient as well. No fancy blending required. I just couldn’t help myself with the yellow shading, but you don’t even need to do that. The markers I used are my Stabilo markers, which I introduced to you earlier this year. They are great for watercoloring techniques and for blending on smaller images when using watercolor paper. I used regular cardstock similar to Neenah cardstock, so blending isn’t really working here.
So, what’s today’s lesson? Quick and easy cards that still pack some colorful punch are possible, and you don’t even need fancy supplies for that.
