Yippeeeeeeeeh, crafters! I know, it’s a little too early for snow for most of you, but that shouldn’t keep us from fun cards with a snowy theme, right? It’s Friday, which means a new card for The Alley Way Stamps and I am featuring one of our new stamp sets, released just this month, called “Waddle Pals”. Penguins are fun, and this set has so many in different poses there are no limits to your imagination 🙂
I wanted to create a shaker card but also give my Fuse tool some work, so instead of using foam tape and acetate I am using the Fuse and some clear foil. You can use either combination, depending on which tools and supplies you have available. In retrospect, using this particular method turned out to be maybe not the smartest one since my sequins don’t have too much room to shake, but hey – live and learn, right? 🙂
I had originally intended to color the space behind the die cut windows in the Pretty Pink Posh tag, but I had the epiphany to just use colored paper instead. By having this intense colored background, the white tag pops nicely against it – not too much contrast , just right. Since I knew I would just glue the paper to th card base, I didn’t use card stock – it would have added too much weight and bulk for my taste.
And of course I had to finish the card off with a cute bow. I have gotten wiser with those: I wrap the very thin string around the card stock until I like the look and then just tie a knot. I create the bow separately: wrap it around two fingers, then tie some string around the middle and voila – bow!
Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my project, I hope you enjoyed it! Cheers!
