It’s Friday again, crafters! And that means I’m bringing you another video for The Alley Way Stamps.
As you can probably guess if you’re a regular reader, I just love quirky characters, and especially monsters. I also have a weakness for great sentiments, so today I’m combining to stamp sets by The Alley Way Stamps: Oogles and Say It Don’t Spray It.
I actually only recently acquired the glue that I used for this card. Before then, I used to stamp my images with Versamark, then sprinkle it with a Judikins Sticky Stuff embossing powder, and heat set the embossing powder. This special type of powder would get sticky, like glue, and then I would apply by glitter on top of it. The downside: the embossing powder is rather coarse so having very fine-grained images, or even completely solid images, is quite difficult. With the glue, it worked just perfectly.
Since I wanted to let the little monster shine, I kept the rest of the card intentionally simple and clean. By layering the front panel onto a piece of colored card stock picking through, I could tie in the color of the monsters with the rest of the card. It’s just an additional accent to add interest.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the card in the video. Let me know what you think about it and what you would like to see next. Cheers!
I’m also sending this card off to the following challenges: Creative Friday asks us to use our does, which I did – extensively; Simon Says Stamp wants to see our “Furry Friends” and even though mine might be glittery, they have glittery fur, obviously!; and the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge is asking for “Sprinkles” – which I’m interpreting as the little spray drops emanating from my tiny monsters.
